Fr. Jim Fleming SSC

Jim Fleming

Irish-born Jim Fleming moved to Britain 12 years ago after doing missionary work in Pakistan. He immediately jumped into a life of helping to bring together different religions in Birmingham using the languages he learned abroad and his experiences.
He was the parish priest of St. Catherine of Siena parish, with a special ministry to asylum seekers and refugees. He had offered a bed for the night to more than 100 people who would otherwise be living on the street because they aren’t allowed to work in the UK and aren’t entitled to benefit payments.
Jim is now assigned to the Columban Mission Awareness Team and is based in the Columban Centre house Solihull. Part of his ministry will involve contacting, nurturing and thanking long term Columban supporters. He is also involved in the local Ecumenical Solihull Welcome Project supporting asylum seekers and refugees.
