Formation Summer School in China

The second Summer School of the three-year formation programme for the training of Spiritual Companions began in the National Catholic seminary in Beijing on July 3rd 2016.

 

 

The Summer School is supported by Fr Eamonn O’Brien, Director of Cultural Exchange with China, who is based in Britain.

Twenty seven participants are present, the 28th from, last year, is seriously ill in hospital. These 27 are from 11 different provinces of China and were selected from 130 original applications. Four are lay, 21 are  Religious sisters and two are priests.

The resident staff are all local Chinese who have been trained overseas and are now sharing their training with their fellow country men and women. The visiting weekly input staff are from the UK, Philippines Taiwan and the United States.

The programme will continue with supervision from August 2016 to June 2017, when there will be a final one-month Summer school.
