Columban missionaries in Australia and the Columban Centre for Advocacy and Outreach in Washington, USA, have both produced resources for you to use during this Lenten season.

In Australia, the Columbans have produced Lenten reflections for Year A ‘The Grace of Earth’. Sections include: ‘The Grace of Earth’, ‘The Grace of Atmosphere’, ‘The Grace of Oceans’, ‘The Grace of Fresh Water’, ‘The Grace of Land’, ‘The Grace of Plant Life’, ‘The Grace of Animal Life’. Download these as PDF files from the Columbans Australia website.

The Columban Center for Advocacy and Outreach at Washington in the United States has produced a seven part Lenten Reflection series with the theme ‘Lenten Tears of Conversion: A Season of Transformation’.

Listening to Pope Francis’ call at the US—Mexico border to “weep over injustice” and soften our hearts, members of the community, including Columban Fathers, co-workers, interns, volunteers, and short-term missionaries, reflect on how God’s mercy has entered their heart and transformed them. The first reflection is by Scott Wright, Director of the Columban Center for Advocacy and Outreach.

The National Justice and Peace Network of England and Wales has produced a leaflet of Daily Actions and Reflectons based on the Scripture Readings for Lent.

Liverpool J&P Commission and CAFOD Liverpool have written a series of reflections for each week in Lent. Each of the five sessions follows the same format: Gospel, case study from at home, case study from overseas, quotations from Laudato Si’, with prayers and prompts for discussion throughout the sessions. Paper copies are available at £1.50 per copy plus postage from the Liverpool J&P office, LACE, Croxteth Drive, Sefton Park, Liverpool L17 1AA or download the whole resource for free
