On Saturday the 25th of January, a multi-faith rally was held outside the Birmingham City Council House partly prompted by a Fox News pundit who claimed Birmingham was a “no-go” zone for non- Muslims.

Rose Basada (lay missionary from the Philippines) and Ray Collier (Columban priest) were among a gathering of more than 200 people, in a show of unity in the wake of the recent terror attacks in Paris.

The organisers said it was a chance for faith groups to “stand up for Birmingham.” During the event speakers from Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim and Sikh organisations addresses the crowd. The Muslim speaker said; “we are a united community; we are a multi-cultural, multi-faith and a multi-racial community”.
